For me, the climax of the story has to be when the monster kills Elizabeth on her wedding night. It is the climax because that death finally forces Frankenstein to take action. I think that Frankenstein is really oblivious because the monster had already killed two of his family members why wouldn't he kill Elizabeth? I cant believe he would risk another life especially his bride! It was also really pointless of him to create another creature and then destroy it. Overall i liked this book because it is very suspenseful and because it is a classic. I thought this story was also pretty tragic.

Frankie Stein 2
In 1818, Mary Shelley wrote the story of Frankenstein. Frankenstein is a story about a bright but misguided scientist who wants to create a permanent cure against illness and death. He actually takes parts of cadavers and reanimates the cadaver. The creature is like a alien in a foreign world. Eventually the creature turns on its creator. 1818 was also the beginning of the industrial revolution, which leads me to believe that Shelley is commenting that advancements in science and technology may actually lead to destruction instead of a more harmonious world. If one were to live in an era where such "improvements" were made one could only be skeptical about such things.

Antagonist: many people would say that the monster Victor Frankenstein created is the antagonist but i disagree. This creature has done nothing wrong but be brought back to life and look intimidating. In face he has feelings and is scared. He is a creature in an alien world. This leads me to believe that society in fact is the antagonist, it has only harbored malice toward the creature. The creature has a kind heart but is hardened by many malicious acts he has endured.
All: This story reminds me of the controversy over stem cell research. Stem cell research is not approved by many people because it tests the limits of science and morality raising questions about a clones soul or mind. Scientists claim that this research is only for the benefit of human kind while others believe that they are trying to play God.
